Budget 2010 - Climate Change Levy (CCL)
Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling confirmed the freeze in the Climate Change Levy (CCL) rates for 2010/11. The rates of the climate change levy (CCL) will increase in line with inflation from 1 April 2011.

Additional measures the chancellor has announced to a low carbon economy include:
• The creation of a Green Investment Bank (GIB), involving both public and private sector capital, to invest in the low-carbon sector, focusing initially on offshore wind generation. By investing up to £1 billion from the sale of government-owned infrastructure-related assets, and hopes to match this with at least £1 billion from private sector investment.
• A further £60 million to ports looking to host manufacturers for offshore wind turbines.
• The revision of the electricity policy framework for consultation before the publication of the white paper in early 2011
